Work Focused,

1:1 Coaching

for

Remote Professionals

An enso design in light pink.

When you’re stalled out, feeling down or caught in a negative loop, it’s frustrating, and beyond isolating.

COMPASSION | SUPPORT | ACCOUNTABILITY

Because maybe you’ve already tried a bunch of things to

  • manage the stress on your own

  • focus your attention

  • get yourself to walk more

  • “switch off” from work mode

  • fix the ridiculous relationship (or lack thereof)

  • quit with the too much smoking, drinking, eating, shopping, doom-scrolling, procrastinating  etc.

But, nothing really worked so you just kinda… gave up.

I get it.

That’s why as your wellness strategist I offer 101% confidential and compassionate coaching so that you can:

  • create a plan of action that suits you

  • talk through messy emotions and judgments

  • get an objective look at the whole picture

  • and be held accountable to do what needs to be done

Hi, I’m Ellie.

I’m your wellness strategist, but I’m not going to give you a strategy. Instead I offer a place to work through difficult issues/complex thoughts and feelings.

I’ll give you room to brainstorm, spitball, and explore possibilities.

As a remote worker, you know that working from anywhere can feel more like working everywhere. The constant online meetings, tech that doesn't always cooperate, and the fatigue of balancing work with the excitement of new places—it’s all part of the package.

I’ve been working remotely since 2007 and currently call China home.

Remote work doesn’t have to take a toll on your mental health and productivity.

Remote work offers incredible freedom, but without the right routines and support, it can also lead to burnout.

“Ellie doesn’t diagnose the person, she helps the person diagnose themselves.”

“Just functioning was my biggest obstacle before working with Ellie.

I was faced with all this crap I had to do and not motivated even to begin. But it was easy to work with Ellie because it was just very easy for me to be honest with her. I never felt like I’d be judged.

I learned I can figure out things for myself. I highly recommend working with Ellie because you know she really understands so you feel comfortable. Ellie doesn’t diagnose the person, she helps the person diagnose themselves.”

“Ellie is both very professional and easy to talk to.”

“She helped me at a very low point and was able to help me see all aspects of the situation I went through with my relationship that came to a hard end. Since then I've been very fortunate to have been able to build a new relationship with my partner which is rare but I come at the relationship in ways I was unable to achieve in the past.

I'm very grateful for her hearing me verses telling me what I needed to do–or not do. She listened and worked with my situation.

I appreciated that she kept me on track and focused. I like how I have been made to  think as well as prioritize and focus on my needs and desires. As a result, I’ve somehow been inspired to stay focused.”

“Ellie helps you stay accountable because she is such an attentive listener and you can tell she really cares.”

“She has this aim to focus on one topic, that even though sometimes it’s difficult, that’s why in the end, it works. Because if we just use the session to vent, there wouldn’t be a path forward.

When facing trouble with a close friend Ellie kept me objective. And in terms of things with my ex, we made great progress figuring out what is and isn’t my problem.

I thought there couldn’t be any concrete help. But having a goal and being held accountable helped me alot. I’m so grateful for her coaching!”

What’s it like to work with me?

I offer 1-on-1 coaching sessions. We will collaborate to bridge the gap from spiraling to steady.

Our partnership begins with 3 starter sessions. If we like how that goes, I’ll suggest a 3 to 5 month package. That’s enough time to realize meaningful improvement.

If that feels like too much, you’re always free to come back for individual sessions, as needed.

SESSION 1

POURING THE FOUNDATION

90-minute visioning session.

We figure out where you want to be in the next 3-6 months, analyze your past successes, and concentrate on your strengths and values.

We then settle on the top 1-3 things you want to change in the next 3-6 months.

We define what that change would mean to you and how it would benefit you.

Visioning session questions are pre-set by me.

SESSION 2

SEEING PATTERNS

50-minute coaching session.

Session 2 questions aren't predefined.

I coach you based on what’s important for you at the moment. We examine various angles and see where old patterns or assumptions may be blocking you.

Two tea cups; tea being poured into one of them.

SESSION 3

DIRECTING YOUR FOCUS

50-minute coaching session.

Session 3 mirrors Session 2 closely, yet we'll allocate a brief period to reflect on our progress. What caught your attention or surprised you during our sessions? And, going forward, how would you prefer to direct your focus?

INSIGHT SESSIONS

LET’S HAVE A CONVERSATION

You might be wondering…

What’s an Insight Session?

It’s for both of us. For me, it’s a way to step out of my bubble; hone in on what’s important for people curious about hiring a coach to overcome remote work + heavy travel challenges. And…

For you, it’s a way to:

  • Explore Coaching (commitment free)

  • Surface Hidden ideas

  • Express Yourself

  • Be listened to and Understood

More specifically, during an Insight Session:

I ask questions like,

“How do you wish life were different for you right now?”

“What are your biggest roadblocks?”

“Are you doing anything about it or is it not that big of a deal?”

You respond. I listen. You share what you want, within 30-40 minutes. I charge nothing and sell nothing.

You speak your mind and decompress.

“Ellie created a safe and compassionate space where I could untangle my struggles.”

“I highly recommend working with Ellie.

I felt supported and accepted in her presence, no matter what I brought to a session.

I shared with her details of my personal life I wouldn’t share with anybody else. Ellie created a safe and compassionate space where I could untangle my struggles.

She put me in touch with my priorities and how to go about it.”

More About Me

PERFECTLY IMPERFECT

I enjoy self-reflection and delving into emotions. So much so that a family member agreed to join me on a road trip, on the condition that I steer clear of emotional inquiries!

I’m also quite think-y: I have strategic thinking strengths and, frankly, I can sometimes be an “arrogant doormat” (awareness is power!).

VALUES & STRENGTHS

The top value in my coaching? Compassion–I  empathize with people. I don’t think life’s a cakewalk for anyone.

I watch too many YouTube videos (Input is my top strength. If you don’t know what that is, let me introduce you to Clifton Strengths…)

I read more book summaries than books.

LIVING IN BEIJING

I might have to meet with you at strange hours of the night (for me, not you) because I live in Beijing and many of my clients are in the US, so if you see me wearing blue light blocking glasses, you know why.

MY COACHING APPROACH

One of the experiences that has influenced my coaching approach the most was working in community mental health in West Hollywood, California where I was trained to build trust with individuals in crisis. It taught me to be mindful of the power dynamic between myself as the paid “helper” and those I'm assisting.

In coaching we are peers.

I’m not your coach because I’m better than you, I’m here because I’m like you and I’m here to walk the path with you.

Wave icon.

“I felt I could speak freely about anything.”

“I would rate Ellie’s coaching as a 10 out of 10 because I felt I could speak freely about anything and I felt comfortable.

Before working with Ellie I had a cluttered mind. I had a hard time keeping my focus on the present. I really benefited by expressing thoughts I often find difficult to share with others, allowing me to release a burden I’ve carried for a while.

This was my first time hiring a coach so, I didn’t know what to expect. I would recommend Ellie as a coach to friends.”

Working together might be a good fit if you…

  • want to create a plan suited just for you

  • could use encouragement while navigating the healthcare maze

  • want support in untangling complex emotions

  • seek methods for balancing self-care with life’s demands

  • enjoy doing internal work

  • struggle with anxiety

Working together might NOT be a good fit if you…

  • want to be told what do do

  • find personal development annoying

  • embrace blame and shame as great motivators

  • see authenticity as weakness/ vague nonsense

  • are unwilling to question dominant narratives

  • believe it’s OK to drive during our Zoom calls

A Bit More About Why I Coach…

There’s so much pressure from friends, the media, even scientific journals.

They think you ought to do it their way. And maybe you should.

Or wait. Maybe you shouldn’t??

It’s paralyzing!

So, how about this?

Instead of shutting down, strictly relying on experts or being scared of “doing it wrong”…

Let's work together to find YOUR WAY.

What do you think?
